Here is a brief recap of match day 35’s English Premier League action. Southampton and Hull drew 0-0. Bournemouth just edged Sunderland, 1-0, condemning the Black Cats (Sunderland) to life in the Championship next year. Crystal Palace fell 2-0 to Burnley. Jamie Vardy’s solo goal in the 43rd minute gave Leicester a 1-0 victory over West Brom. Stoke tied 0-0 with West Ham. Gylfi Sigurdsson’s spectacular free kick in the 79th minute secured a vital point for relegation-threatened Swansea against an injury-weakened Manchester United (the final score was 1-1). The Icelandic international’s late equalizer also denied Mourinho’s men (Manchester United) the opportunity to commandeer third place. Manchester City came from behind twice to tie Middlesbrough, 2-2. In a thrilling London Derby, Tottenham assured their position above Arsenal, and canceled Sir Totteringham’s Day, as they defeated the Gunners 2-0 with goals coming from Harry Kane and Dele Alli. This is the first season in 22 years that Spurs will finish above their archrivals. Although we are nearing the end of the season, not everything is set in stone. All of these teams still have a lot to play for (except for maybe Sunderland*) and the last three match days are sure to be more exciting than ever.
