In the EPL, Boxing Day, i.e., the day after Christmas, is one of the biggest footballing days of the year. While other leagues take time off, Premier League clubs battle through a grueling holiday schedule. If you missed any of the action, here is a brief recap. Sam Allardyce drew 1-1 with Watford in his first match in charge of Crystal Palace. Andre Gray’s solo goal gave Burnley a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough. Everton defeated Leicester, 2-0. West Ham crushed a struggling Swansea, 4-1. Arsenal just edged West Brom, 1-0. League leaders, Chelsea beat Bournemouth 3-0 for their 12th consecutive victory in the Premier League. Mkhitaryan’s screamer (a scorpion kick that flew into the left side of the net) helped Manchester United to a 3-1 win against Sunderland. Hull fell 3-0 to Manchester City and Liverpool destroyed Stoke, 4-1. Tottenham came back from 1-0 down to beat Southampton 4-1. Well that’s all for Boxing Day’s Premier League matches.
