It’s the final match day of the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League group stages. For some clubs these fixtures are crucial if they wish to advance to the Round of 16, while others are merely fighting for a spot in the Europa League or a possibly easier fixture in the next round. Whatever the circumstances, the final match day always provides an abundance of excitement. If you missed any of Tuesday’s action, here is a brief recap. Lucas Pérez netted a hat-trick as Arsenal romped Basel, 4-1. Ángel Di María scored late to salvage a point for PSG against Ludogorets; the final score was 2-2. Dynamo Kiev, who finished last in Group B, went out on a high note, routing nine-man Besiktas 6-0. Napoli beat Benfica, 2-1. Barcelona cruised to a 4-0 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach with Arda Turan netting three. Manchester City drew 1-1 with Celtic and Bayern Munich just edged Atletico Madrid, 1-0. PSV and Rostov tied, 0-0. Well, that’s all for Tuesday’s match day 6 UCL action.
