Here is a brief recap of the EPL matches that took place on match day 36. Roberto Martinez’s struggling Everton just barely edged Bournemouth, 2-1. Newcastle won versus Crystal Palace, 1-0 in their fight for survival. Jermain Defoe’s stoppage time penalty salvaged a vital point for Sunderland against Stoke; the final score was 1-1. West Ham crushed West Brom, 3-0. Troy Deeney’s late brace helped Watford come back from 1-0, then 2-1 down to beat Aston Villa, 3-2. Relegation threatened Norwich fell 1-0 to Arsenal. Swansea shocked Liverpool, winning 3-1. Southampton overcame Manchester City, 4-2 with Sadio Mane netting three. Manchester United were able to hold Leicester to a 1-1 draw, delaying the Foxes first ever EPL title at least until Tottenham played that next Monday. If the Spurs drew or lost Leicester would be crowned champions. Being a Tottenham fan myself, I take great pain in saying, they tied Chelsea, 2-2. So, congratulations to Leicester for overcoming those 5000:1 odds of winning the title and for all my fellow Hotspurs, Come On You Spurs! Well, that’s all for match day 36’s Premier League action. I shall now go cry myself to sleep.
