This match day marked the beginning of the month of December, one of the most exciting footballing months of the year. There were some crazy comebacks, shocking results, and a record was broken. If you missed the action, here is a brief recap. Congratulations to Jamie Vardy who broke Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record for most consecutive matches scored in when he netted in the 24th minute to give Leicester City a 1-0 lead over Manchester United. Man U did tie it up though in the 45th minute, forcing the Foxes to share the points. Everton looked as if they would cruise to a fairly easy win over Bournemouth when they went 2-0 up in the 36th minute, but Bournemouth had other things in mind. With only ten minutes remaining Adam Smith pulled one back for the the Cherries. Seven minutes later, Junior Stanislas tied it up! Then Everton took the lead again in the final minute of stoppage time! Everybody must have been thinking they had the three points in the bag. Nope. In the 97th minute Junior Stanislas scored for the second time to salvage a much needed point for Bournemouth! Watford beat Aston Villa, 3-2. Crystal Palace destroyed Newcastle 5-1 after going 1-0 down in the 10th minute. Manchester City beat Southampton, 3-1, moving them back to the top of the table. Sunderland surprisingly won versus Stoke, 2-0 thanks to goals by Duncan Watmore and Patrick Van Aanholt in the 84th and 82nd minute, respectively. Tottenham drew 0-0 with Chelsea. West Ham tied 1-1 with West Brom. James Milner’s solo goal gave Liverpool a 1-0 victory over Swansea. Arsenal dominated possesion, but only managed to draw with Norwich, 1-1. That’s all for match day 14!
