It’s back. The wait is finally over. This weekend marked the start of the 2015-16 EPL season. With new players, managers, and teams it’s bound to be an exciting action packed season. If you missed this glorious weekend here is a brief recap. Manchester United, even though they didn’t perform extremely well, managed to beat Tottenham thanks to a Kyle Walker own goal. Aston Villa won, 1-0 against newly promoted Bournemouth. Everton had to score late to equalize with Watford, who are also newly promoted. That match ended 2-2. Leicester City played surprisingly well under their new manager and pulled off a 4-2 win versus Sunderland. Although they dominated possession Norwich City (the third team promoted from the Championship) lost 3-1 to Crystal Palace. Swansea City shocked Chelsea, drawing 2-2 with last year’s champions. Along with only gaining one point the Blues (Chelsea) will also be missing Courtois due to a red card. West ham united, as crazy as this sounds, beat Arsenal, 2-0. Southampton and Newcastle United drew 2-2. Philippe Coutinho’s solo goal in the 86th minute was enough to give Liverpool the three points over Stoke City. Manchester City accomplished a convincing 3-0 victory over West Brom to put them at the top of the table. Well, that’s all for this first match day of EPL action!
