This weekend Chelsea played Tottenham in the Capital One Cup Final (which is the reason they did not play in the EPL). Tottenham started the match off extremely well with Christian Eriksen having quite a few attempts on goal, one of which hit the the post. The first goal came in the 56th minute when Willian (Chelsea) sent in a cross from a free kick that bounced off Danny Rose’s head and then Eric Dier’s leg (both Tottenham players) right to John Terry who was standing in the middle of the box. He volleyed the ball, which deflected off Eric Dier and into the net. 1-0 Chelsea. They then doubled their lead in the 56th minute. Diego Costa tried to square the ball and was fortunate to have it ricochet off Kyle Walker and past Hugo Lloris’ outstretched arms for an own goal. In the end Chelsea won the Capital One Cup and their first trophy since “The Special One” (Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea manager) has returned. As for Tottenham, they will continue to fight for a Champions League spot in the EPL.
P.S. In the picture the kid behind Jose Mourinho (the man in the suit on the ground) is probably thinking, ” How in the world are Chelsea in first with this crazy guy as their manager?”
