Here is a brief recap of match day 22’s Premier League action. Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert both netted in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa. Crystal Palace came from 2-0 down to beat Burnley, 3-2. Stoke City won, 1-0, against Leicester away from home. James Wilson and Marouane Fellaini, both subs, scored Manchester United’s two goals as they beat QPR, 2-0. Chelsea crushed Swansea, 5-0. Christian Eriksen scored in the 88th minute to give Tottenham the three points against Sunderland (the final score was, 2-1). Eljero Elia lead Southampton to a 2-1 win over Newcastle United, netting both goals. West Ham United cruised to an easy 3-0 win over Hull City. Santiago Cazorla played exceptionally well as Arsenal shocked Manchester City, winning 2-0. West Brom and Everton drew, 0-0 (Everton’s Kevin Mirallas missed a penalty in the 44th minute. Here is a brief recap of match day 21’s Premier League action. Liverpool were able to hold on to an early lead to beat Sunderland, 1-0. Burnley won 2-1 against QPR to earn a vital three points. Newcastle United lost to league leaders, Chelsea, 2-0. Everton equalized four minutes after Manchester City scored in the 74th minute to tie 1-1. Paul Konchesky netted the only goal in Leicester’s 1-0 victory over Aston Villa. West Ham United were winning 1-0 against Swansea up until the 74th minute when Mark Noble scored an own goal to tie the match, 1-1. Saido Berahino lead West Brom to a 1-0 win over Hull City. An inform Harry Kane put Tottenham ahead against Crystal Palace in the 49th minute, but in the end they lost, 2-1. Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 victory over Stoke. Cristiano Ronaldo Wins the Ballon d’Or

Cristiano Ronaldo is 2014’s Ballon d’Or winner and definitely deserves to be. If you look at his 2014 stats, they’re amazing! He scored sixty goals this year, made twenty-eight assists, and achieved many other successes. The Ballon d’Or is given to the player who was the most outstanding player during the previous year, which this year is 2014. Ronaldo was, without a doubt, the best player of 2014.

English Premier League, Match Day 20, New Year’s Day

Here is a brief recap of New Year’s Day’s Premier League action. Stoke City drew 1-1 with Manchester United, but should have won, being the far better team and having a clear penalty not called. Aston Villa dominated against Crystal Palace, but were unable to score and tied, 0-0. Everton lost 2-0 to Hull City to continue their losing streak. Liverpool were winning 2-0, due to two converted penalties by Steven Gerrard, until the 58th minute when Leicester made it 2-1. Two minutes later they scored again to salvage a point. Manchester City dominated against Sunderland and won, 3-2. Newcastle United drew with Burnley, 3-3. Wilfried Bony scored in stoppage time to save Swansea City a point. Surprisingly, Southampton beat Arsenal easily, 2-0. Over at Boleyn Ground, West Ham tied 1-1 with West Brom. Tottenham, who have been on a good run of form, shocked league leaders Chelsea, beating them, 5-3. 🙂 That’s all for match day 20 and New Year’s Day!

Here is a brief recap of the  final match day of 2014. Tottenham and Manchester United were two pretty evenly matched teams and both deservedly went home with a point (the game ended 0-0). Although going 1-0 down in the 17th minute, Chelsea were able to earn a 1-1 draw against Southampton. Leicester City barely pulled off a 1-0 win over Hull City. Aston Villa went a man down in the 49th minute, but were able to hold on to a 0-0 draw versus Sunderland. Burnley miraculously came back from 2-0 down to draw Manchester City, 2-2. Crystal Palace drew QPR, 0-0. Mame Diouf netted both goals in Stoke City’s 2-0 win over West Brom. Santi Cazorla and Danny Welback both scored to give Arsenal a 2-1 win over West Ham. Newcastle United were 3-2 victors over struggling Everton. Liverpool crushed Swansea City, 4-1. That’s all for match day 19, as well as the year of 2014.
