Another amazing weekend of Premier League football (soccer) gone. If you missed it here is a brief recap. West Ham shocked Manchester City, winning 2-1 to keep them in the top four! Although Liverpool had seventeen shots they were only able to tie Hull City. Stoke City was a bit lucky to only lose to Southampton 1-0. The Saints (Southampton) hit the woodwork multiple times. Alexis Sanchez scored both of Arsenal’s goals in their 2-0 win over a struggling Sunderland side. Crystal Palace couldn’t hold on to a 2-0 lead and only tied West Brom, 2-2 (the goal that tied the game was a penalty on extra time). Leicester lost again, this time 2-0 to Swansea and are only one point above the relegation zone. Everton cruised to a 3-1 victory against 19th place Burnley with Samuel Eto’o netting a brace. Tottenham were shocked when they went down 2-1 to Alan Pardew’s Newcastle team after leading 1-0 at halftime. Unable to respond, the Spurs lost 2-1 at home! Manchester United were down 1-0 to their bitter rivals Chelsea with only a few minutes until full time. Then when John Terry (One of Chelsea’s many great defenders) was sent off for a bad tackle on Di Maria they had their chance to tie the game. So far Di Maria’s services into the box hadn’t been very good, but this one was beautiful and Marouane Fellaini headed right at the goal. Courtois made a great save, but then Robin van Persie buried the rebound with a cracking shot that shook the goal. Old Trafford erupted with cheers, for the Red Devils (Manchester United) had just salvaged a vital point. What an exciting weekend of Premier League action. Sadly, it has come to an end. The good news is that there will be more next weekend!
