Real Madrid triumph in El Clasico

Today two of Spain’s biggest names in football (soccer) competed at the Bernabeu (Real Madrid’s stadium). It was Real Madrid vs. Barcelona in the El Clasico. Real Madrid were off to a shaky start when they let Neymar have a tad too much space and he took full advantage, scoring to give Barca the lead. After that though, Los Blancos (Real Madrid) took control of the game. Real were given a great chance to tie the game in the 35th minute when the ref awarded them a penalty. Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up and coolly slotted the ball into the back of the net for his 16th goal in La Liga. Then in the 50th minute Pepe made it two, off a great header right into the bottom corner of the net. Eleven minutes later Karim Benzema put the icing on the cake with another beautiful goal to assure Real the 3-1 win. Now after that crucial win Real sit second in the table, one point behind Barcelona who are in first.
