Here is a brief recap on this past weekend’s Premier League action. Stoke went up on QPR, 2-1 in the 51st minute, but was denied the three points by Niko Kranjcar cracker of a goal (off a free kick) in the 88th minute. After their exciting win against Liverpool last weekend Aston Villa was looking for another surprise against Arsenal. Arsenal had other things in mind though and crushed them 3-0 with all three of their goals coming in a four minute time span. Sunderland played to a 0-0 draw against Burnley and both teams are still winless. Hull City looked like they would win against Newcastle after going 2-0 up in the 68th minute, but Newcastle rallied one last time and were able to tie! Southampton won against Swansea, who were a man down due to a red card, 1-0. Liverpool were trying to get a win after their disappointing loss to Aston Villa last week. They must of not tried very hard because West Ham slaughtered them, 3-1. Everyone thought the game was in the bag for Manchester United when they were winning 3-1 against Leicester City, but somehow they ended up losing, 5-3. Their season has not been off to a good start. Tottenham lost again against West Brom, 1-0. Crystal palace shocked the Toffes (Everton), winning away from home, 3-2.The biggest game this past weekend was Manchester City vs. Chelsea. Both teams’ defenses played brilliantly and the match ended a 1-1 draw. The goalscorer for Chelsea was Andre Schurrler, and the goalscorer for Manchester City was former Blues icon, Frank Lampard, which made this game an instant classic. This was a great weekend of Premier League action. I am looking forward to next weekend’s games as the table starts to take shape.
