English Premier League, Match Day 4

Here is a brief recap on this week’s EPL action. Two title favorites went head to head in a thrilling match. It was Manchester City against Arsenal. Neither team could gain the upper hand and the match ended as a 2-2 draw. Swansea City were looking to continue there amazing start to the season when they faced Chelsea. They were off to a good start when John Terry put Swansea in the lead in the 11th minute due to an own goal and dominated the first half, but that was not going to continue in the second. Diego Costa netted a hat trick and Loic Remy topped it off with a debut goal (Jonjo Shelvey scored in the 86th minute, but it didn’t make much of a difference). Burnley and Crystal Palace both went home with a point after a goalless game at Selhurst Park. Southampton crushed Newcastle United, 4-0 putting them fourth in the league table. José Ulloa netted for Leicester City in the 64th minute which happened to be the only goal of the game. Leicester was awarded their first win of the season. Tottenham were on the verge of a 2-1 win against Sunderland when Harry Kane scored an own goal to give Sunderland a point! Everton easily won against West Brom scoring goals in the 2nd and 66th minutes. Aston Villa shocked everyone by beating last years EPL runner up, Liverpool, 1-0! WOW! Manchester United won their first game of the season this weekend against QPR with two of their new signings, Di Maria and Ander Herrera opening their accounts (scoring their first goal). Hull City and West Ham United both played very well and both went home with a deserved point (they tied 2-2).
