This World Cup has been the highest scoring World Cup in a long time. But why? My theory is that defenders are getting hot and tired, making it difficult to focus and play at a high level resulting in lots of mistakes that world class strikers will pounce on. Also, since they’re playing in Brazil there is a ton of humidity. If there’s a lot of humidity your body sweat can’t evaporate making it very hot. Sweat evaporation is one thing your body needs to stay cool. Another thing that happens in humidity is extreme sweating and when you sweat you lose electrolytes. If you lose to many your legs cramp up and don’t work well resulting in injuries. But coaches have been trying to train their players to get used to it. England manager Roy Hodgson took his boys to train all over the world and Italy had their players train in saunas. So, that’s my theory, what’s yours?
