Group G, Match Day 1

Here is a brief recap of match day one for Group G. The USA pulled off a vital win (2-1 was final score) against Ghana with Chris Brooks scoring the winning goal in the 86th minute. Title favorites Germany crushed Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal 4-0 with Thomas Muller scoring a hat trick. As the group stands Germany are in first with three points and the USA are in second also with three points, but behind in goal differential by three goals. In third is Ghana with zero points and in last is surprisingly, Portugal with 0 points, but trailing Ghana in goal differential by three goals. So, at the end of match day one that is how Group G stands.
